Introduction to The Lancer Group Inc.

The Lancer Group Inc. combines a conservative outlook and a commonsense approach to business with the skills that are needed for it to remain a leader in our selected areas of real estate development and property management.

At Lancer, the principals have worked together on the design, development, financing and ongoing management of a wide range of real estate ventures since 1973. Each of the managing principals possesses a degree in architecture or engineering and at least 25 years of experience in real estate development. They are supported by an experienced, qualified team of senior technical and managerial staff.

Collectively, they have directly or in concert with others developed hundreds of thousands of square feet of commercial space, many public and private institutional buildings, more than 2,000 apartment suites and hundreds of other residential dwellings from non profit multiple housing to the most luxurious custom residences.   Lancer currently has a portfolio under direct property management in excess of 2,500 residences as well as shopping centres and 1.5 million square feet of industrial space.

Lancer is focused on adding to the value of each project through careful design, good planning, effective management and continuing positive tenant relations. It is an indication of the esteem in which Lancer is held that we have been retained by several financial institutions to help with the orderly completion and sale or property management of distressed real estate.   Lancer is also regularly retained by other developers to provide development or property management services for their condominium and apartment buildings.

Our Organizational Structure

The principals of The Lancer Group Inc. are active in development, construction and operation of a diversified range of properties. These include high demand commercial and industrial space, retail centres and residential projects. The range of locations across southern Ontario and the business mix avoids over-commitment to any local economy or property type, while facilitating effective management.   The Lancer Group Inc. is experienced in all facets of construction management and general contracting. The company has special expertise in "acquisition rehabilitation" and conversion projects, renovating apartments and other buildings to modern mechanical, electrical and design standards. We also bring to bear our principals' expertise in new residential, industrial and commercial design and construction.

Lancer is recognized for its ability to deliver - on time and within budget - projects that meet the needs of owners and tenants over the life of each building.   With a staff of more than 20 highly qualified individuals, Lancer carries out its activities through corporate entities in which it retains a significant ownership interest as well as effective control.

Lancer includes three divisions: Development Management, Construction Management and Property Management. Most staff members provide services in more than one division and bring expertise to all phases of the life of a building from the glimmer of an idea, through land acquisition, rezoning, subdivision, consultant management, tendering, construction review, property management and ultimately new construction or refurbishment.
